Do I need a licence to charter a yacht?

For a bareboat charter (no skipper or crew provided), yes: a skipper's licence and, as a rule, a VHF radio certificate. Without a licence, we add a skipper, paid separately from the boat price.

What documents do I need at check-in?

Passports for the whole crew. A crew list with passport details for everyone on board, including the skipper, filled in and sent to the charter company in advance. The charter contract, and a credit card issued outside Russia for the security deposit. For a bareboat charter you also need a skipper's licence and a VHF radio certificate; if you sail with a hired skipper, you don't need them.
